Body weight Exercise (continued)
As said before I am a big supporter of body weight exercise. The reason being is that I am a competitor in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. The sport requires a lot of strength but not strength that comes from squating 450 pounds. It demands a high capacity for muscle fatigue. I engage in numerous bodyweight exercises on a daily basis, things such as push ups, wall squats, pull-ups, and jumping jacks. These type of exercises increase muscle capacity to hold and control my own bodyweight therefore increasing my BJJ conditioning.

Thats awsome. I love bodyweight exercises as well. I find that i benifit from them alot more then lifting weights. I just taugh a class today to high school boys on partner training. I focused on resistance and medicine ball exercises. The lesson went very well and it seemed like the students enjoyed it too. I like body weight exercises because they are cost efficient and you can do them just about anywhere. No fitness center necessary.
ReplyDeleteI was reading up on your bodyweight exercises. I must say you undergo very strenuous training. I was highly impressed with your numbers and hope that some day I will find the motivation to get in the weightroom as well
