Body Weight Exercise

Many people go to the gym and assume that if you are not bench pressing or lifting heavy weights you can't be working very hard. Another assumption about this type of thinking is that you can't get strong or be fit using anything but typical weight and exercise. These misconceptions about exercise lead many people to think that body weight exercises are not very effective in enhancing the strength component of health related fitness. These types of exercises used properly can effectively enhance one's health. Costing next to nothing a person can utilize a steady routine of simple exercises to work on your strength. Using simple exercises like push-ups, lunges, wall squats, weightless squats, and like exercises you can effectively target major muscle groups.

  1. I agree with you comment. You go into gyms and see people putting up large amounts of weights that is actually doing more harm to them than good. When people are squatting a ridiculous amount of weight, they are actually losing flexibility, and putting alot of press on their lower half. Some of the best workouts out there come from just doing push up and sit ups. To be in top shape definitely does not consist of using machines.

  2. I also agree about what you are saying. I see a lot of people trying to lift to much weight. I know that you can get a really good workout by not even using weights. For an example there is one football player that does not like to lift weight. Troy Palomulo does a lot of exercises that just uses his own body weight. So if he cold be in great shape why cant everyone.
